Note: Fook is a sometimes contributor to ohm image.
With the exception of Fook’s review, the consensus at Head-fi is that Fiio’s X7 is a game-changer. Fook painted the X7 as 'not able to drive transportable headphones', which I seriously doubt. But he took issue with items that I consider incredibly important: jumpy interface and software quality.
What surprised him was the X7's excellent Bluetooth.
Congratulations FiiO, you have convinced me that I need a feature that I previously did not.
BTW, I love Bluetooth audio: (MyST PortaDAC 1866, PS Audio Sprout).
By and large, reviews for the X7 are positive. And while I have serious concerns with how Fiio design software/hardware interfaces, I think they are doing audiophile DAPs the right way.
