Speaking of the CPRG classic, AgentOrangeGuy's work in Exult to liberate Ultima VI from its 1990 roots in order to enter the world of 2000's-assisted 1992 technology is coming along swimmingly. I mean look at that: a staircase into a Buccaneer's cave. Netherworlds didn't even exist in Ultima VII, but tweaks by the Exult team make things possible.
And to an audiophile like me, any tweak or release of Ultima's original music files by series fans (which will be made possible thanks to Exult) is music to these ears.
Ultima VI, of course, is the progenitor of the modern CRPG, whose world, interaction engine, and plot hold up well today. It will be thirty years old in 2020.
Anyway, back to the WIP of Buccaneer's cave:
“Jumping around a bit and working on the map. Trying to finish the progress I made on Buccaneer’s Cave. I think after one more section, it should be connected to the sewers which is almost complete (still working on the level where Phoenix is). I’ve been trying to get the quest related dungeons complete first, and then the minor dungeons next.”
