Snazzy Labs previews Photos for Yosemite

iPhoto is one of the reasons that I used to recommend Macs to my friends and family. It was the first easy, quick, and clean solution for consumers to manage and edit digital photos. Over the years it started getting really slow and problematic so Apple finally decided to give it the ax-and I couldn't be happier.

Great preview of Photos preview for OSX Yosemite 10,10,3. Looks like a great upgrade to iPhoto, (and a big downgrade to the functionality of Aperture).

Nikon Capture NX-D RAW not a big hit with fans

No sooner did Nikon Rumors announce its availability than users began decrying the loss of certain features. Most notable is the loss of transfer features from camera to computer, and U-point adjustments. Nikon, who, as of Capture NX-D RAW's debut, will no longer support Capture NX 2, from its English FAQ, directs users to:

Use the transfer function in ViewNX 2, or connect the camera to the computer and drag images to a folder on the computer.
There are no particular restrictions on the placement of RAW image files on the computer.

It's good to know that we should expect future Nikon capture software to be fundamentally crippled.
